I don’t know about you, but I looove making playlists, and I obviously have a bit of an ongoing thing with reading (in case it wasn’t obvious). Naturally this lead me to the conclusion that joining the two together would be a fantastic way to spend an afternoon.
In case you missed it: In my book review for Eleanor & Park I mentioned a Spotify playlist I’d made to set the mood while I was reading the YA romance novel.
While I linked the exact playlist (both in my previous post and above) I wanted to just put it down in writing for those who may want or prefer it that way. After all, Spotify obviously isn’t the only way to devour music.
If you have access to a cassette tape recorder it would be incredibly cool to make like Park and record these songs yourself onto your very own tape. Many cassette recorders and players these days can record straight from the audio playing on your phone via an auxiliary cord, so there’s food for thought.
Anyway, enough babbling on my part, let’s get into it.
Here’s the 10 songs I picked for my personal Eleanor & Park Reading Playlist
(Yes there’s more than one song by The Smith’s in there, they’re just that deserving.)
God Save The Queen – The Sex Pistols
How Soon Is Now? – The Smiths
Boys Don’t Cry – The Cure
This Charming Man – The Smiths
Love Will Tear Us Apart – Joy Division
867-5309/Jenny – Tommy Tutone
Forever Young – Alphaville
Two Of Us – The Beatles
Romeo and Juliet – Dire Straits
There Is A Light That Never Goes Out – The Smiths
What would you include in your Eleanor & Park Reading Playlist? Are there any songs in particular from mine that you agree or disagree with?
Let me know in the comments down below!
As always, wishing you the happiest and coziest of reads,
